Custard Coconut Halwa
Ingredients:
8 1/2 tbsp custard powder,
strawberry flavor,
2 cups fresh grated coconut,
3/4 cup sugar,
2 tbsp raisins,
2 tbsp almonds (sliced),
a pinch of salt,
1 tbsp ghee,
3 cups hot water.
Method:
Place coconut in the mixer and extract coconut milk with hot water. Strain
through a muslin cloth. To this, add the sugar, salt, custard powder and
place pan on high heat. When the mixture boils, keep stirring on a medium
flame for about 5 minutes. Add the ghee and about half the nuts and raisins
and pour halwa in an ungreased tray. Sprinkle remaining nuts and raisins.
Cool and cut into pieces and serve.
